I think this is really just a case that Sanderson isn't willing to say that Cyndane is Lanfear reborn - it hasn't been stated directly in the books, though there are some huge clues that this is the case. The more casual fan still may not have picked up on these clues.

Also, don't forget the NDS agreement he signed. This is the sort of thing that fall under the NDS, so it's likely that he simply can't reveal it.


Obviously there's a lot going on with Cyndane and it's clearly wrapped up with what happend to Moiraine. Knowing that this will be resolved in the next book, all the RAFO type of answers make a lot sense to me.

Basically, Brandon is getting himself into troube because he's a fan and he wants to help the other fans out. If he was more willing to simply answer RAFO than to try and work out what he can say, should say, shoudn't say, etc, then he'd be better off. I certainly don't fault him for helping us out - it's way more fun this way.
