Demandred's curious reactions during the Garden Party in KoD, after Moridin mentions "Sammael", that he at first genuinely thought it ridiculous that Sammael is still alive. Then he realized that this might actually make him the most likely culprit in Moridin's eyes and thus he suddenly admits that Sammael might be alive (Aran'gar notes it is very strange that Demandred corrects himself).

This might also explain why Demandred made his harsh comment in TGS, prologue, that he would kill Semirhage, if she somehow killed Rand. This shall make clear to Moridin that Demandred didn't send the army as "Sammael".
