That's not always true, actually. Egwene wove spirit into the rod herself, as did Romanda, IIRC.


Yeah, I think you're right. I couldn't remember if it happened the way I said in every instance, but I was pretty sure that was the "normal" practice.

It is very possible that with 300 or so channelers to test, Egwene allowed them to channel spirit into the Rod themselves, rather than channeling for hours on end.


It didn't have to be the same person who channeled for hours. Egwene could have had the person who was just Bound be the channeler of Spirit for the next Bindee, for example.

But the bottom line is, we don't know how it was done. It's possible the Bindees channeled themselves.

Personally, though, I'd prefer the idea of some kind of inverted glove that prevented Mesaana from touching the OR.
