IMHO there would be no ambiguity if BS had said, in brief, what he learned from Maria.

I really don't understand why some of you argue or theorize on things with such conviction when they seem rather open-ended to me, so I'm pretty willing to play devil's advocate if that seems to be the case.


It's just as possible too that Lanfear was never actually stronger than Cyndane currently is and that she merely had a personal angreal. Other's assumed she was hiding her true strength because when she actually channeled the amount of saidar was greater than her potential... there are plenty of explanations that work within the context of the quote from BSand.

On a side note I think RJ (and now BSand) went out of his way to give us "Aes Sedai" answers to many of these questions ... so many of the quotes can be interpreted in 50 ways!
