But from a literary stand point, yes. It's definitely not on par with Jordan or similarly classed authors. But then again, it wasn't meant to be either.

Themes, skill of writing, plotting. All lightyears ahead of Jordan. Just because it's written for younger people doesn't mean it's not Good writing.

Comparing it with Jordan here:

- there's far less useless, extraneous matter.

- there's more to talk about from a Themes and Issues point of view.

- the plotting is intricate and carefully laid, as opposed to the more "organic" (look at me being generous with my terms) style of Jordan's writing. His books got out of control with what happened. Rowling's never did.

No, there's not as much excitement for an adult mind. No, there's not as much hidden stuff. But what is there is better.
