GotM can't be that expensive anyway. I think I bought my hardcover (I don't think they even produce Malazan in HC anymore!) about 7 years ago on the clearance shelf.

I loved it from the get go, but like Legolas said, many do not like the way it almost immediately makes you use your own imagination rather than force feed you every detail.
