I don't think there's exactly a single definition for it, but perhaps you have learned something of this while in school? ;)


Much like God, it's more easily defined by what it isn't. And it certainly isn't A Confederacy of Dunces.


Good luck with that definition; it's largely been rejected by scholars in the field over the years.

I'm talking about in respect to others; as for me, my own conclusions differ from quite a few and are based on some knowledge of the field. For cultural history, I do have the grad degree to show for it, with an emphasis on areas that touch upon what today might be labeled the "fantastic" (popular religion). So just admitting that I know from first-hand experience the problems he'd have from others isn't contradicting myself :P
