I am a Christian who wholeheartedly supports Gay Marriage.

I have also long maintained that those who call themselves Christians who thump the Bible to condemn people different from them are using that book as a shield for their bigotry.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, but the Bible I read teaches about love, especially loving those society condemns.
Now, I'm not friends with my gay friends because the Bible tells me to, I'm friends with them because they are good people and I enjoy their company. And I don't do this debate often because it upsets me very much to hear someone invoke the name of my God to spew hate. I get incoherent and don't help my cause. So I'll post this and then ignore the responses. I'm supposed to remain calm while I'm pregnant and the show I'm working on right now has already shot that in the foot.
We as Christians are doing something fundamentally wrong if we are seen as hateful people.
Now, I'm not referring to people who simply don't agree with Gay Marriage. If you've reached a different conclusion that I have we can have a polite difference of opinion. I mean people who go out of their way to make "God hates Fags" statements. I deal with too many of those.
