Whether or not you are demonizing homosexuals, the simple fact is that they are being treated differently than all the other sinners. Sure, we're all sinners in the eyes of the Lord, great, but all those other sinners can still be married. If gays aren't super sinners, as you put it, why are they singled out in this regard?

I said that they're singled out because homosexuality has a big "gross" factor, and some Christians react with that instead of a Biblical argument. If someone's going to make a big deal out of homosexuality, they should consider making just as big a deal out of adultery, etc, in general.

You state that you don't support gay marriage without addressing this simple disconnect. And whether or not I agree with his argument that this leads to an implicit sanctioning of their bullying or whatever other mistreatment, that kind of renders the rest of your argument rather academic.

I don't "support" Gay marriage in the same way that I don't "support" live-in lovers. Expecting Christians to endorse or "support" Gay marriage is a pretty big double standard. It's one group of people demanding another to embrace or endorse something that's against their convictions. That's a lot different than asking folks to understand that some people are different from you, and that you shouldn't harass them about it. (claims of right and wrong completely aside)
The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
