I thought I pretty much agreed with you on that point

Have you ever been to a fundamentalist church? I know that when you look at how they are portrayed in the media and pop culture they seem like nothing but fire and brimstone fire breathers but the reality is much different. The few that I have attended made me uncomfortable with all the touchy feely love crap. Lots of hand holding and swaying lots of talk about love and commitment.
I am not saying that sort of church doesn’t exist but they are by far the minority.
I am not saying that sort of church doesn’t exist but they are by far the minority.
All I am saying is that a religious fanatic dad may say some pretty nasty things about Gays during dinner, which his kids may pick up. Whether or not that makes them bullies later is a different issue.
But like you and Amanda said, the church taking an official stance pro-Gay doesn't make it any less likely that some Gay kids will end up getting bullied by assholes. It's all very vague and theoretic when it comes to cause and effects in this. It's no science.
