You want SOMETHING and you want more than just people wandering in willy nilly with nothing more than metal detectors to save your hide...but you don't want it to go overboard and you don't want the government using terror ITSELF to pull everyone's puppet strings.
And like me, you have no actual "here's the answer!!"
How 'bout we got back to passenger security as it was in 2000? 9/11 worked because people had been told for 30 years that when their plane is hijacked, to sit and stay in their seat and everything will be fine. Underwear and shoe bombers DIDN'T work because other passengers were paying attention and stopped them... where all the security scanners and whatnot failed. The TSA is a billions-of-dollars a year drain on our economy that doesn't do a fucking thing to make traveling genuinely more safe. We could spend a tenth of that amount of money on intelligence to identify and neutralize potential bombers before they get anywhere near an airport. Oh, and passenger security is bullshit anyways because cargo security is practically non-existant and any serious bomber would just send a package in the plane's cargo hold.
So, people travelling in the US tomorrow: are you opting out?
