it was either a bold political move to draw the more conservative elements to him before anyone is paying attention or it was just dumb, maybe both. There will be controversies abut him no matter what but if he can make it about him being ineloquent when he said he didn't want the fed just printing more money he will come out ahead. Getting past the media filter is one of the harder things to do especially early in the primaries. He said something that pisses of liberals but it does getting the press making his anti-fed stance a headline.

He is a real conservative though and I think the good news is a lot of the swagger is just that, swagger. Two years ago I wouldn't have given him a snowballs chance in hell but with a weak field and a very unpopular president he may have a real chance.
