I think that generally agreed, though we need a study PROVING what we already know. Joel Send a noteboard - 05/02/2012 12:41:26 AM
Anyone saying something else is either just too politically correct and diplomatic or too close to their ideology.
Through my job I had my share of contact with German far-right racist party members in the last year and they are all uneducated, stupid fucks. It's the only possible explanation for the drivel they produce.

Because starting with that goal is always the best way to get a reliable study. The bigger question is whether everyone on the right is stupid, or just the bigots.

The question is dubious on its face, and one this study almost certainly lacks the means to answer (after all, even the articles title only claims "links," which means little by itself.) I guess this counts as trolling, though I did not think of it as such when posting.

Anyway, I would say the trick is not putting the cart before the horse; most ignorant bigots are conservative, but the reverse obviously does not follow from that. It is disquieting to realize conservative electoral victories rely heavily on ignorant bigots, but perhaps we can take comfort in the fact most ignorant people only THINK they know wtf they voted for in the first place (on the other hand, I think I just encapsulated the Southern Strategy (again.) ) We may be missing out on more enlightened policy, but are not automatically getting the Klan instead (made a nice totally neutral photo to lead the article though. )
