You're missing a really key point Jeordam Send a noteboard - 13/02/2013 09:13:32 PM
2 Timothy 3:15-17

"15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Notice that there is no hedging that bet? All scripture. And well, here's a topic that we often discussed at school...do you think that the council that decided what was and was not cannon was not similarly inspired? That the books that made it, and the books that did not were chosen for a purpose? Do you truly believe that God would leave something like that up to us alone? You know as well as I do that God acts in today's day and age.

Have a little faith dude. ;)

If "the bible is still the bible," then what of Deborah, Huldah and Phoebe, to name but a few? - 13/02/2013 06:17:44 PM 988 Views
Why wouldn't it still be devinely inspired? - 13/02/2013 06:44:07 PM 894 Views
Um, because then God was lying when He inspired someone to write "this is not Gods commandment." - 13/02/2013 07:42:15 PM 879 Views

So Roman Catholic priests CAN marry, under tortuous conditions? Interesting.... - 13/02/2013 03:40:48 PM 792 Views
A priest can't marry, but a married person can become a priest. - 13/02/2013 03:51:02 PM 843 Views
Heh, yeah, I guess I slightly mischaracterized what you were saying. - 13/02/2013 05:54:05 PM 951 Views
There are a bunch of semi-Catholic denominations that allow priests to marry. - 13/02/2013 06:06:13 PM 863 Views
