If that had actually been their view then they could have arrested him and extradited him ages ago.

After all this, I'm honestly very interested in seeing how this plays out. I fully expect that there will be an extradition and then this entire case is going to get yarded wide open. The victim will likely get dragged through the mud years after the fact wrecking her life AGAIN and who knows what will eventually out. They might well throw out the guilty plea, probably will in fact, over the borked plea bargain and then have to start all over again.

Whatever happens, millions will be spent and, probably little to nothing will ever come of it save for the massive disruption of lives of people who just wanted to forget about this and get on with their lives.

Well, I guess that's some people's idea of 'justice'. I expect at this point they'll probably get it.
