And because of that element of interpretation, we'd need legal advice to go any further than a letter, if it came to that.

According to our title deeds (and hers are the same), the flats can only be used for residential purposes and not for business. So the question is whether holiday letting counts as residential or not. What's also unclear is whether she'd need to apply for a change of use permit for turning it from a home to a holiday let. The previous owner lived there.

She also needs to get permission from all flat owners to make the change she wants to make for the door, and though she's applied for planning permission she hasn't contacted the factor or any of us about doing that.
