Physical resemblances do not prove relationships. That might be how Ned Stark obtains adultery convictions, but you need something better to support a non-disprovable hypothesis being taught as absolute, unquestioned fact, while alternatives are banned, whether "creation science" or panspermia (whose advocates, include Sir Fred Hoyle, whose credentials are vastly superior to those of Charles Darwin) or anything else.
I personally think that the weight of evidence favors evolution over creation, however I do think there is an issue with science generally being perceived as absolute, unquestioned fact when generally they are scientific theories that tend to change over time as more data is received.
There are many fields where the scientific view has shifted over time, as more evidence or data becomes available.
Thus scientific theories, while generally robust and based on empirical research, are generally the best held explanation / theory for why something is occurring, and are useful for modelling (such as Newton's 2nd law of physics - it isn't correct but is accurate enough for speeds not nearing the speed of light).
Given how these theories are developed, I think it is reasonable that they are the ones taught in schools, however I do think it is reasonable to at least mention that there are other theories out there, with brief outlines. I don't think they need to be discussed in as much detail, but at least put out there so people can look into it further if they wish.
