I think this debate is to complex to be boiled down to bumper sticker slogans so I like to poke at people who do so. In the 60’s in Houston a black man did have access to the finest restaurants in the city and now he does. Whether or not he could have afforded then or now does not change that fact.
Poor people in the US have access to healthcare now even they can not afford it. It may not be of the highest quality but it is there. Go down to Ben Taub and they will treat you. May have to wait all day but they will treat you.
