Every nation has to come to grips with the "sins of its past".

Whether or not Turkey acknowledges the alleged genocide, doesn't change the fact that those people all died. All this does is put a mark of shame on a country in which few if any of the guilty even survive.
Turkey just continues to blatantly deny and lie about its history. How can modern nations accept Turkey when it continues to deny its past? How can the EU seriously consider letting Turkey join when it not only lies about its past and denies it but continues to squash any and all dissent and to treat minorities like the Kurds and Armenians like shit?
BTW, I don't think that other countries trying to force Turkey into admitting the truth through resolutions is necessarily the right path to pressure them, but I also respect that every sovereign nation has the right to pass such statements. Mainly I posted the story because I thought their childish response was ridiculous. Still, if I was the EU I would tell them in no uncertain terms that until they come to grips with their past and come to grips with their own fallibility that they will never see membership. But that is just my opinion, I respect others' views as well.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

Your problem is that a "settlement freeze" doesn't impress anyone at all.
