The Finnish plan, however, is one that was either accidentally or intentionally released in the 1990s, so we know it existed and we know the precise parameters of it - the main attack would be in the area of Petsamo and strike through to the Gulf of Bothnia and, "in the event Sweden responds", on through Sweden. Apologists tried to then claim the plan was only if the USSR were attacked by Finland, but the order is very clear that it is to be implemented "at any time if the USSR determines to implement this plan".

I will add that in June 1941 the Soviets already had AT LEAST 1,225 T-34 tanks, most of them (over 950) at the very Western border. These numbers are very difficult to find because most statistics list only production "1941-1945" or some other such nonsense. If they had been able to effectively use them it would have been interesting to see.
