Artifical Gravity, FTL, Star Trek Transporter, Cylons.... Jeordam Send a noteboard - 18/05/2017 11:09:19 PM

When I was little, I remember my grandpa telling me stories from when he was little...and hearing about the first plane flights. And seeing pictures in the newspaper. I remember stories when the whole "electricity for everyone" started happening in rural America. The TV was invented. Phones in people's houses.

Then I remember when my Grandpa died, and all the things that by his age of 98 years old, that he now took for granted. The man didn't like to fly anything less then Business Class. That TV better be high-def...and by God, his headphones to hear the TV better be charged up, because he hated that stupid wire.

In a span of 66 years, we went from the first sustained heavier then air, powered airplane flight to men walking on the moon. And during that very time, they were using paper, pen, and slide-rules as their tools. If I live to be as old as my Grandpa, what will I see? The concepts I mentioned above....artificial gravity, faster then light travel, the transporter, or human/synthetic individuals...we have the concepts. Will we see those?

Many had the dream....the Wright Brothers made those first steps....NASA gets men walking on the moon.....

Even just bending the knees and letting the arms drop a little would make a huge difference *NM* - 18/05/2017 07:03:09 PM 173 Views

I hate it when massive plot holes are excused because it is science fiction - 19/05/2017 03:11:21 AM 213 Views
