If you have a social safety net I don't really have all that much of a problem with the idea of abolishing the minimum wage. But we've seen so many abuses of "the right of people to chose the prices they are willing to pay, and the right to enter into whatever sort of agreement suits their purpose" that it's really remarkable someone as well versed in history as yourself is arguing for a return to scrip and the company store.

Don't you think that there were other factors in play, not just wage earnings, which caused food scarcity and such?
