I particularly have come to absolutely detest the stock look of existential angst that Bernard greets every situation with. I also think that Dolores became a caricature of the "evil robot" without any real development of her character. She's still in a loop, just a bigger and stupider one. Maeve is probably the best and most interesting character because she actually seems to have real feelings. Her I like. The writer who gets dragged along with her I liked - they shouldn't have killed him off. I really, really liked the Ghost Nation guy who saw what he wasn't supposed to and became conscious.

The Shogun World detour episode was far more Shogun World than we needed to see - recognizing the exact same plot line was funny but the whole Sakura thing was totally unnecessary and a detour from the plot.

On the whole, though, HBO took something that had a lot of potential and ended up avoiding so many interesting philosophical questions that could be played out and taken to their natural conclusions that I found it frustrating at times.

I also liked the programmer woman Bernard chained up in the cave, but it irritates me that every show now tries to show a woman genius programmer because they're pushing this PC line about women coding.
