Laughs at Mookie

Sorry Mookie you made a mistake. ( Ribs Mookie a little )

THE BIG IDEA
Outside contributors' opinions and analysis of the most important issues in politics, science, and culture.

-----

The Big Idea is Vox’s home for smart discussion of the most important issues and ideas in politics, science, and culture — typically by outside contributors. If you have an idea for a piece, pitch us at thebigidea@vox.com.

This op-ed is not from Vox, but from an outside person like many op-eds you see in newspapers. The person who wrote this op-ed is Brian Riedl. Brian works for the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. The Manhattan Institute is one of the big wig think tanks in the Conservative / Free Market movement. Besides being very free market, the Manhattan Institute has numerous people as fellows and on the board of trustees we would consider part of the Neoconservative Movement.

----

You can argue whether this article is good on the merits or not, but I am merely pointing out (and ribbing a little ) that Vox is not supporting this idea or analysis and merely posting an Op-Ed.

(I am not going to address the numbers for it is not a serious analysis and it is a sloppy Op Ed. For example he only counted the 30% discretionary spending with his $12.4 trillion over 10 years. That is not counting the social security, medicare, medicaid, or national interest spending which is 69 to 70% of the federal government spending. This article is sloppy and misleading period. You can say me not engaging with all the details is not fair... But is this article really trying to be fair or is it just about shooting cannons back and forth at the various sides with misleading stats and misleading arguments?)
