Significant cuts in military spending has consequences. Military headcount reductions put all those former soldiers, sailors, Marines, etc. out looking for work. Base closures wreck local economies. Cutbacks in weapons development hits more than the company that won the contract to build the new jet, ship, tank, whatever. It trickles down to the manufacturers of required components.
Is there a point where the savings cost you more in the long run?
