By removing any assault on the baby from the criminal code entirely, it means that a non-consensual "abortion" by a third party can only be viewed with respect to what it does to the mother, not the baby.

The case that received a lot of press when the bill was working its way through the depraved NY state legislature was that of Livia Abreu, who was pregnant when her ex-boyfriend attacked and stabbed her in the abdomen multiple times to kill the baby (so he wouldn't have to pay child support). His assault on her is all he can be charged with - the charges that were pending in the criminal case for the harm he did to the baby were thrown out before trial because between the arraignment and the trial, the law passed and his murder of the baby became a non-criminal matter.

Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
