While I support generally why they are protesting, it does seem unfortunate timing for mass protests. Will be interesting to see how it plays out, plus how much impact wearing masks will have, as some protests seemed to have lots of mask wearers, versus others that didn't.

That disparity is unfortunate, but does present an opportunity. The real issue will be coming up with reasonable estimates of mask wearing. I believe we have enough photos and videos from these protests to be able to make a statistically reasonable estimate, then go from there, but mask wearing won't be the only factor that differentiates these protests, so we'll have to be very careful with how we analyze the data. But I wouldn't be shocked that someone is looking to do such a study.

Unfortunately, by it's nature, it'll be a few years till such a study is truly doable. So it'll have to be a topic to revisit eventually.
