Katie Britt, the new senator of Alabama, has also been mentioned as an option, for similar reasons - but yeah, a Midwestern governor still works better than an Alabama senator. Especially since Britt is closer to McConnell than to Trump, last I heard. Noem sounds plausible indeed - though she's as bad as Stefanik in terms of having made sucking up to Trump her day job, instead of the actual work she was elected to do, and I don't see her moving the needle much in the election.

Katie Britt was chief of staff to Richard Shelby before she got his old job, so she's got experience doing exactly what I claim the Dem leadership is doing with Biden, in my opinion.
So if Trump loses his mind in the 'feeble old man' way, at least we would have a VP with relevant experience in puppeteering.
