I don’t disagree with what you’ve written here, and I’ve read similar lines of thought elsewhere, but it always kind of rubs me the wrong way. Why do the countries disgorging these hordes always get a pass? How about they get their acts together so as to improve the livelihoods of their own citizens? For these countries it seems like tacitly encouraged emigration is a pressure valve release to be used so as to avoid reforms that might mean the ruling classes have give up an iota of control or ownership at home. Fuck that. Cutting down illegal immigration as much as possible should be the goal. We’ve got enough problems here. Let foreigners figure out their own problems.
