Personally I don't agree with the sword as a gift thing. But the sword will turn out being Justice. There is no other sword I recall that Rand has seen that was in any way significant.
But why would Hawkwing paint dragons on the scabbard? Makes absolutely no sense at all. Myself I think it's Amalsan's sword.
