So it's not like I'm whining 24/7 that I don't like Sanderson's style.

RJ intended DM and intended Rand to be a changed person afterward. He wasn't overly friendly to Bunt. He merely smiled and was vague at him.

..a lightness to the air..a strange sense of peace..Rand's presence holding the DO off..I'm not saying he was overly friendly (why would I be?). I suppose that some sort of enlightenment was to be expected after Rand's epiphany but this feels excessive. It's doesn't feel like the Rand we all know and lov..hat..know. I'm afraid that Sanderson will make a massive joke out of Rand, exactly like he did with Mat.
And it's obviously not going to be all sunshine and rainbows.

Rand has an aura of light and his presence is comforting others in a miraculous way. People who were desperate a moment ago are now happy and at peace. He's a giant walking joint. I know that RJ could have done a better job trying to convince us that the good guys are losing and the situation is so, so desperate, but come on.
