Perhaps, but Rand at least have so basis for his comment as Egwene has consistantly kept secrets from him and sided with Nynaeve, Moiraine, the Wise ones etc. against Rand. Whereas Rand when Egwene last saw him couldn't hurt a woman to save his life.


Of casting him out of Caemlyn. Nynaeve hid the fact that she sent Lan off for weeks, the WO have been manipulating him since minute one. Mat ended their friendship almost immediately when he learned what Rand was and didn't come back for several books.

Rand had also begun making himself so hard by the time Egwene left that she felt like she barely knew him anymore. What reasons does she have months later to think he's not gotten worse? All of her. Reports from the people around him just point to him becoming even harder!

Egwene has plenty of reasons to believe the way she has.
