Re: the oath is very literal and does not forbid indirectly causing death

The three oaths are, "To speak no word that is not true, to make no weapon for one man to kill another, and never to use the One Power as a weapon, except against Shadowspawn, to save her own life or her Warder's, or the life of another sister."
The oaths are quite literal; a gateway is not a weapon, therefore she can form one just fine. The oath does not forbid indirectly causing death with the power. Even tying a person up with the power to then kill them with steel weapons has not been forbidden by the oath.
Not to mention we've already seen how little integrity most Aes Sedai have when it comes to finding ways to weasel out of their oaths. The first one is the easiest to get around, but the second and third are nearly as weak.
Elaida wouldnt want to get around this Oath, she doesnt want to have the Tower destroyed and collared. And as far as the weave having to DIRECTLY kill, this is untrue. Witness the Aes Sedai following Perrin who refused to even slightly help him against the Whitecloaks because of any possibility that their help could somehow result, even indirectly with their deaths.
Elaida, oh no you didn't!

This is ridiculous. You can teach any weave, including Balefire. You just can't always use it. *NM*

You can teach a weave so long as YOU believe that the weave won't be a weapon. Elaida knows better *NM*

This is false, we've seen battle weaves taught since the start of the series.
