I felt that Brandon copied some previous Graendal chapters to get this effect. It's fine, but it was like rereading certain things - her revealing dress and her fondness of good wine, the gateway slicing trick emulated by Sammael, the strength of Compulsion, and her commentary on how good looking certain slaves were. He used a lot of it verbatim, but it was excellently written, and could pass for RJ writing.

Hmmm... I felt the repetitiveness too, but some other statements were spot on, and seemed original and Jordan. Maybe Jordan wrote the scene from the moment the conversation began and Brandon had to write how she got there? If most of the book is like this, with the important parts having a very Jordanesque feel, I'm going to be very happy.


Oh absolutely. I think that this chapter effectively seals off the OP debate with males and females. Graendal completely equates Semirhage and Demandred.

And brings herself and Moridin into the table as well. I think Cyndane was left out simply because she was Moridin's slave.
It would have been nice if she'd expanded on Aran'gar and her alliance, but it was not to be

Did you see anything relevant about Mesaana wearing a white dress?

Graendal seems certain Mesaana is masquerading as an Aes Sedai, and since she has agents in the Tower, this seems believable. I think the white dress might indicate that Mesaana is a White Sister, maybe Norine?
