well there is also the fact that Hong Kong has different "rules" than even other major darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 21/01/2011 05:38:46 PM
.
It was a Western City for more than 100 years and has largely been left to it's ways since reverting back to Chinese control. Head on out to rural China or Tibet and see how you like things

This is starting to get really silly. Yes of course they're different, the cosmopolitan cities are completely different world than rural china. The majority of china is still very poor. While the larger cities such as Hong Kong and Shanghai are seeing far improved living standards

The hypothetical question however, was would I rather live in modern day china than medieval Europe, given the much better living conditions in parts of china today, I'd choose china, obviously.

Edit, on a personal note, I chose Hong Kong specifically because I have friends who live there and visited the city before. Quite frankly I'd rather live in any of the Chinese coastal cities then Medieval Europe, obviously due to the better living conditions.

Chinese cities. It's considered a "special administrative region" allowing for a very different lifestyle than even cities such as Shanghai etc...
