First because of the high probability he is in Murandy.
More importantly, I never considered Masema as being controlled before this. Looked on through this prism, and considering the Chosen's knowledge of each other, it gives good explanation to the 'Events to the south have Demandred's fingerprints all over them'. Sammael said that I think.
Also, 'let the Lord of Chaos rule' and 'have I not done well' comments which were made to be mistaken as the Taimandred theory. Now they make sense. He was talking about Masema and the Dragonsworn ravaging the lands. No other pro-Rand faction has been so detrimental to Rand's reputation.
We don't know how Masema turned from a nut to a nutter with a following.
