Heh I think your focus on this one topic and saying how BS is terrible for not having every aspect of it memorized is crazy. It is not as important as character, theme, and plot worldbuilding never is. Yes this is an opinion an opinion I have a right to.

The hatred for BS and his writing and how he is destroying the books has gotten rather ridiculous and using his answers to what ARE minor points as evidence of that is rather ridiculous IMHO. Certainly you have the right to disagree with me. Now if he was writing the characters in a way that made them out to be very different people than they were in the previous books then I would have a problem. Not having every tiny detail on instant recall, no that doesn't really bother me.

As for evidence that RJ made up some of the answers to his questions on the spot we only have to look to the contradictions that appeared in his work.

In general I feel a lot of people on this site spend to much time analyzing a set of fiction works *shrug* but then I am very much a work first kind of person (which seems to be a dieing breed unfortunately).

Glad to see I generated some discussion but reading through all these replies would take much more time than I want to devote to it.

Again as has been said. This obsessive attention to minor details is crazy and ridiculous and unimportant for the themes and major import of the story. As well I expect much of these type of answers Jordan was making up when asked. He did have to change things in the books to fit with his answers at some points.

There is no proof that RJ made things up to satisfy questions.

The "science" of how things in the world work are far and away extremely less important than the characters, the themes, and how those characters and themes are handled.

In your opinion, which I'll remind you is not the only opinion that counts. Some people like myself, Shannow and a few others enjoy talking about the OP. Others enjoy different things. For you to tell us what is actually important is as ridiculous as telling someone exactly what animals are important and what aren't in a zoo.

I certainly haven't been "obsessing" for twenty years over how exactly strong each of the channelers is...I would be getting myself some help if I had been. There is being a superfan and then there is being Sheldon Cooper level crazy.

No one is obsessing. Some of us have made the OP into a pet subject. It's a fleshed out magical system that can be debated in detail, and not just a mystical magical system like in most other tales. Just because it doesn't interest you doesn't mean you should run down others who enjoy the topic.
