My idea would be Alivia would be there in a link with Rand when he dies before the Strike. Possibly at Demandred's hand. Mat would be there to kill Demandred and to bring Rand back as Rand brought back Mat when he was hung by the Finns by pumping his knees to his chest for some old school CPR. Then Nynaeve can perform the new Healing on him so it wouldn't take any of his own strength which would be precious little if he was flatlined a short time before. I would imagine Rand could use this opportunity to then rise up from the dead and strike while he is still weak as he did at Ravhin after Fains attack nearly killed him.
I agree that Rand is likely to die before the Strike, but I don't think Mat will be the one to bring him back. We can assume that Rand is a Hero of the Horn, and as such he will go to T'A'R when he dies. Then I think Nynaeve will rip him out of T'A'R the way Moghedien ripped out Birgitte. We know she was there when it happened, and thus she saw the weaves. Her desparation over Rand's death will probably make her remeber those weaves. It has been said on several occasions that Nynaeve won't be satisfied untill she has healed someone three days dead. This would fulfill that quite nicely.
Also I think it's likely that they will use the dagger-ter'angreal that hides you from the shaddow to hide his resurrection. So I love the fact that he is wearing a dagger on the cover.

English is not my native language, please don't flame me when I make mistakes.
