Don't forget that male - female levels don't align, though, and Elayne-Egwene were not trained much if at all at fending off shields back then.

"There are several levels of men strengths above the female ones" and the fact Rand might well have been close to his full strength, and Egwene. Elayne was much lower.


RJ did say women's dexterity advantage makes up for that, but its entirely possible Elayne and Egwene had no such advantage at this stage of their training. Plus, they weren't even holding the source when he shielded them.

Exactly. And we don't have the numbers/formulas used in circles either, so it's hard to judge for comments like 3 women as strong as Semirhage etc.




Also Elayne was significantly weaker than Egwene at this stage. She gains ground only after she spends time with the Wind Finders and is forced. She isn't even strong enough to lift a single woman until the end of book 4 ... Something Egwene can do with some ease. Elayne begins gaining the majority of her strength when she is with the circus. And Egwene obviously continued to outpace her while with the WOs.
