1. What do you think is the funniest moment or line in WoT?
View original postThere aren't too many extremely funny moments. I enjoyed when Nynaeve opened her heart to warn Teslyn and she was scoffed at. Nynaeve had a fit.
Yep, RJ's humour was always very subdued, nothing to make anyone laugh out loud. I guess Nynaeve's running gag was to blame other people for something and then do just that (Elayne was so violent, someone ought to slap her; 'I won't shout at you', Nynaeve shouted...).

2. What was the best story arc in the series?
View original postBest: He finished the story.
Heh, seems like a popular compliment.
View original postWorst: He completed messed up the OP, and was a disaster at writing Mat.
I take your word for OP and def agree about Mat.

6. How is it possible there were so many Black sisters? I read somewhere that it was roughly 200 persons, making the Black ajah almost as large as the Red.
View original postRJ answered this in the context of the AOL AS. 50% of them turned to the Shadow. Having supernatural power makes you want more power.
Mmmh. But AoL was very different from current Randland. Nobody even remembered what war was, and people seemed to turn to the Shadow for the flimsiest reasons (Asmodean). Though of course, no Black sister could have known that the Last Battle would come in their lifetime. But in AoL, the need to be recognized would likely have been greater, current Aes Sedai already enjoy the highest social status possible, whereas in AoL, being able to channel didn't automatically make you a goddess.
View original post
How do you see the future of Randland unfolding from now on (e.g. Seanchan, Aiel, Asha'man, Kin)?
View original postThe AM and AS will become friends but will never merge. They'll regularly meet and do things together. The Seanchan will ultimately regress to Seanchan and rebuild it there. The Aiel will too. The Kin will join the Tower, as will every other woman who can channel. They will have no standard for AS and will drop the Oaths.
Could be. No way to know, but I wonder how populous Seanchan is (the number of Damane might be a clue). It is much larger in terms of landmass than Randland. No wonder it was a constant fight against rebels to keep it together at all.
