However, there is no way that BS wouldn't have figured that it might be Graendal. He isn't an idiot. On the other hand, it's not that easy to find all the clues from the books before LoC to determine that Slayer was the killer.

Therefore Graendal is pretty much ruled out. As I often pointed out, the theory anyway didn't make much sense, once you really think Asmo's murder through.

That last bit would be more convincing if you offered anything resembling an argument in support of it. And as for Graendal being ruled out, no, she's really not. All this does is ruling out the more unlikely suspects. Slayer, Graendal, Lanfear, perhaps even Taim all have enough support and adherents that "oh, those guys were right" makes sense as a reaction.
