Teenagers at school didn't spend hours a day getting spanked. Repeatedly. For weeks straight.

No, wait, most people would break after even just days of that sort of treatment in the situation that she was in. With always that fear of not only torture, but execution should she put her foot wrong with the wrong person.
Right.
Right.
They didn't crumble after a few days of beatings/leash-strikes. They continued to defy the school authority for years.
And I wouldn't call a spanking torture. That's too strong a word for it.
The reason she doesn't crumble is that she doesn't see her situation as static and hopeless. That's a big part of how torture and its like work.
A SPANKING is not torture. I never stated that A SPANKING is torture. Egwene doesn't merely get A SPANKING and then get released to go and do her thing. She gets beaten, and then beaten again, and then again, and forced to labor, another few beatings before bed. As I seem to need to keep repeating. Maybe you should go back and read her chapters from the last two books. She's receiving major physical abuse to the point that many sisters are commenting that the harshness of her treatment is way above and beyond.
Then you started comparing the occasional mild paddling received kids in our modern society to what happens in Jordan's savage world. I don't see how they even compare considering the enormous social differences between the two settings.
Who performs the worst atrocity in this book: Egwene or Rand? (A good Cannoli question)

Because most people often get acclimated to being beaten 3 or more times a day.
