If she had said she hadn't noticed outright without any sarcasm then it would be more debatable.
Her statement, sacrastic or not is still a lie... how does this not violate the 1st Oath?
aslong as they know they aren't decieving anyone.
The oath reads "To speak no word that is not true"
And is New Spring Siuan was stopped from saying something about how hard her work was to Moiraine, despite the fact that she would not have been deceiving Moiraine with her words... doesn't seem consistent to me!
It doesn't matter that Moiraine would not have been fooled by the lie, Siuan's intent was what counted, and she was trying to say something she didn't believe was true.
