What you are saying is that Verin, in a fit of genius and through some fortunate or unique events that are never even hinted at having existed or through some knowledge that is always said to not exist managed to arrive at a miraculous discovery she is never suggested to know, and this allowed her to be an incredible idiot.

Which of these scenarios seems the more likely to you?

Contrary to everything we know from the books, Verin, through sheer brilliance and a lifetime devotion to finding ways to break the Oaths (I thought she devoted her lifetime to studying the Black Ajah?) made a marvelous discovery that no other Aes Sedai has ever made in two thousand years based on some hypothetical events that exist only for the sake of reaching this conclusion, which enabled her to act uncharacteristically stupidly by killing herself when she could simply have used this miraculous discovery that was researched specifically for this purpose and to which she had devoted her last seventy years, ensuring said discovery will never be revealed to anybody, including the readers.

Or,

Verin chose the best solution she had based on the knowledge available to her.

And does she know that Stilling breaks the Oaths? *NM* - 09/12/2009 06:16:54 AM 448 Views
She should. Some of the Aes Sedai who swore to Rand had been Stilled and then Restored by Flinn. - 09/12/2009 03:18:10 PM 918 Views
Then, wouldn't the BA/Shadow just kill her off? I think it'd be kind of obvious what she did. *NM* - 09/12/2009 03:23:05 PM 597 Views
I think that's beyond the BA's capabilities. - 09/12/2009 03:48:03 PM 798 Views
Doesn't mean they experimented with it. - 09/12/2009 08:48:23 PM 853 Views
Rebels had no reason to research a way to break the oaths. Verin did. - 10/12/2009 02:00:21 AM 891 Views
You're going at it upside-down. - 10/12/2009 02:33:41 AM 861 Views
Verin should have figured it out - 10/12/2009 03:03:14 AM 844 Views
Why? - 10/12/2009 04:15:45 AM 839 Views
I was just rereading that section yesterday.... - 10/12/2009 10:52:23 AM 1027 Views

I don't think those would work - 09/12/2009 07:03:38 AM 881 Views
