We don't know the full amount of Slayer's powers. But his obvious unconcern to take on a most powerful channeler like Rand indicates that he would be a match for any channeler, at least if Slayer manages to surprise the channeler and acts quickly enough (as I think he was concerning the stunned Asmo). If Slayer was sent by Lanfear, he would even know that Asmo was shielded, but also a Forsaken like Graendal might have figured it out. Plus, since RJ said that also Fain "would have [killed Asmo] if he had been in the right place at the right time, but he wasn't", Slayer naturally has an even better chance being a professional assassin, who actually has the ability to jump via TAR to the right place at the right time to kill someone.
