The Shadow is CONSTANTLY talking about how much they want Rand to turn to the dark side of the One Power, as it were.
I'd say giving Rand access to an all-powerful, insanely addictive power source only accessible through the Dark One (accessed in a fit of rage) definitely led Rand a few steps down that path.

If Semirhage simply had taken him to SG, the Shadow could have done anything to Rand (who probably would be quite broken after killing Min by himself). Therefore I don't see the DO - the "ur-control freak" - giving away this advantage by allowing Rand to free himself and kill one of his best Forsaken with the DO's own power, just for the chance that this might already turn Rand to the Shadow (which didn't happen in the end).
Besides that, I think the "clouded face" Rand sees when he takes the TP, strongly indicates that Rand is using Moridin's access to the TP via their link. If this is right, and if the DO didn't know about their link before, it will be interesting to see how it might change the relationship between the DO and his Nae'blis (maybe Demandred will get his chance to become the leader?)
Did Cadsuane actually get any secrets from Semirhage during her breakdown?

I don't think Cadsuane learned anything from Semirhage...

Of course it was necessary to the plot. It's why Shaitan sacrificed Semirhage. *NM*

Doubt that Rand's TP use was intended

It seems very reasonable that the DO would give Rand access to the TP

A rescue attempt at SG seems pretty difficult, though. And Min would be dead.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE THE TRUE POWER WITHOUT SHAI'TAN'S CONSENT.

Because Semirhage was broken and may have revealed it to them under interrogation/spanking. *NM*

Hmm, I doubt that Semirhage knew this, since she was concentrated on the Seanchan & Rand.
