And I never read it in any other language, so I have no thoughts on translation, but I think that it's not a book in which translation can make much difference. It's different with the robot stories where there's a lot of language plays but in this one there shouldn't be any big differences.
Evolution, just like gravity, works even if you don't believe in it.
