Bertha Jorkins and Mr Crouch crop up together, and Ludo Bagman is mentioned.

It's noteworthy that Percy's low opinion of Bagman will prove to be justified, by and large, unlike of course his hero-worship of Mr Crouch.

And Mr Crouch's worry and interest for Bertha's disparition becomes far more interesting now - of course he's worried, that woman can bring him down if his memory spell is ever broken.

More importantly, the accio spell is emphatically introduced, as are portkeys. And the Lovegoods.


It's when they are discussing whether anyone else will show for the portkeys. Mr Weasley says that the Lovegoods have already been at the site for a week (presumably they had cheaper tickets).

True, hadn't thought of that - both enormously important spells in this book, and both introduced in subtle ways here. We get a (Dis)apparating 101 as well, which will only really become important in book six.

Where are the Lovegoods mentioned? It would appear the Dutch translator has missed that, or just decided to make up a new name for them once he found out Luna Lovegood would become an important character in book five. Annoying.

But other than that I do not see these as plot-heavy chapters. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
