But that is just the point. The aim is to not provide a reason for Voldemort to attempt to take control of Harry. Not because it will hurt Dumbledore, but because it will hurt Harry. Occlumency on Dumbledore's part will not stop that.


I definitely get that too, but wouldn't think that Voldemort needed a reason to mess with Harry's head. Just for the sake of messing with him and hurting him, would be enough. If I had any concern that he had access to Harry, I would have wanted Harry started on Occlumency immediately. Either way, didn't work out well in the end.

Legolas pointed out that Harry at this point has not slept for ages, and probably not eaten much. His near-insane reactions are therefore justifiable.


Yep, agree there too. Not to mention the trauma from seeing the attack from the snake's eyes on one of his favorite people would be horrible too. I was more pointing out that he really didn't see Ginny in as direct a light at this point, just as Ron's sister, along with everything else he has on his mind.

I think the differences between the Twins are a fun part of them as characters and this (as you've pointed out) does show them as distinct individuals. Fred is usually out in front, as he was in this case, right or wrong. This will be interesting to discuss in the Deathly Hallows thread.

That's why it's interesting to me this time around. Fred, who appears to be the "leader" of the two, is the one that dies.
