You buy a blue ray disk and you own a digital copy of that movie on a piece of plastic. The piece of plastic can be lost or stolen or even damaged and you own a useless piece of plastic. How is that different than owning a digital copy of a book on your e-reader? With an e-reader I believe you can even down load new copies if yours is damaged.

I think people look at things like mp3 players and DVD and forget how long it takes for most new technologies to take off. E-readers will probably take a lot of time to really catch but that is OK because they can afford to since it cost so there really is very little overhead involved in supporting the technology.
